I've been messing around with the style of the blog lately... I'm still not happy with it though. One of these days I'll get around to designing one of my own, and hopefully I'll like that one.

Not a very eventful day today... I'm reminded once again of my ... lazyness in the oddest things. I've got my paystub sitting here from last weekend that I still have yet to enter into Quicken on my Mactop... I'm not sure why I haven't done it yet, I just haven't. It's one of those things that aren't important enough for me to do right now.

I like the way I've reorganized my desk(s), but my pictures that I recently hung on the wall aren't how I like them... they're in darkness, because my monitor casts a shadow from the light. I've always wanted to make small LED picture lights, but I'm not sure I have the time or money (or resources) to do that right now. They'd be nice if they were solar powered... hmm...

Oh well. I have a lot of things I need to get done but I just don't have the motivation to do them, just like the pay stub. I've got a bunch of dishes to wash, but that will have to wait for... hopefully this evening after I get back from dinner. We'll see. I'm thinking of trying one of the mashed potato packets that my mom bought for me -- they look delicious... my mouth is watering just thinking about them. I'm not sure how I'll measure out the right amount of water though, I don't have a cup measure... but either I'll borrow one or fake it.

But last time I faked it, I made easy-mac... and it ended up being like soup, and it was terrible. I have another packet sitting in my food drawer... one of these days I'll get around to being brave enough to try it again.

I just remembered! My family brought me some camping gear last weekend, and they included a mess kit in it -- which has a small 1-cup measuring cup in it. Score!

I just finished recompiling Amarok 1.4.7 on my computer just yesterday, it didn't have M4A support (really, mp4 support through FAAD2) and that was pissing me off -- I was trying to organize and sort out my music collection and I couldn't change half of my ID3v2 tags... it was bugging me, so I spent way to much time trying to fix it... and eventually succeeded.

Wow, it's been a while since I've written here.

College life is interesting. The "FIELD OF DREAMS" a.k.a. backyard to my dorm is open now, which really means the sod has finally set (they put it down the day I got here).

There's some large party thing going on outside, which involves many people standing around attempting to do sports which involve the field -- but really kinda failing at it. It's kind of interesting to watch.

Just started talking to old friends again today -- I'm not sure why I stopped. When I first moved here I was on the phone constantly with people back home talking about anything and everything, but then since classes started up, that kind of drifted off. Probably for the better as well, because it helped me get into my groove.

It's almost half way through the semester! That's crazy for me to think about, that I'm about 1/16 done with college. Well, that is, if I actually graduate in 4 years. Chances are, I'll end up stuck here for 5 with the whole double-major thing. But you never know, it could be done in 4. At this rate, it'll be 4. but I think my classes will get more difficult and so I won't be able to take 18.5 credits every semester (Plus I want to work off my college loan before I leave).

I have this book -- Dreaming In Code -- It's a really good book, I just haven't had time to read it... I've got though 1 chapter and I've had it for almost a month. It's scary... but at the same time, I've been really busy with other things.

Al otro lado del río

Clavo mi remo en el agua
Llevo tu remo en el mío
Creo que he
visto una luz
al otro lado del río

El día le irá pudiendo
poco a
poco al frío
Creo que he visto una luz
al otro lado del río

Sobre todo creo que
no todo está perdido
Tanta lágrima, tanta
lágrima
y yo, soy un vaso vacío

Oigo una voz que me llama
casi
un suspiro
Rema, rema, rema-a
Rema, rema, rema-a

En esta orilla
del mundo
lo que no es presa es baldío
Creo que he visto una luz
al
otro lado del río

Yo muy serio voy remando
muy adentro sonrío
Creo que he visto una luz
al otro lado del río

Sobre todo creo
que
no todo está perdido
Tanta lágrima, tanta lágrima
y yo, soy un
vaso vacío

Oigo una voz que me llama
casi un suspiro
Rema, rema,
rema-a
Rema, rema, rema-a

Clavo mi remo en el agua
Llevo tu remo
en el mío
creo que he visto una luz
al otro lado del río

It's when I'm asleep in my bed...

... and the angel of music sings songs in my head.

Think of me
think of me fondly,
when we've said goodbye.
Remember me
once in a while -
please promise me
you'll try.

Eek, last final today. Score.
